Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho was quite keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier during the just concluded transfer window and despite Jose Mourinho’s eagerness to land the 23 year old at Old Trafford, the England and Tottenham Hotspur star has admitted that he has no intentions of handing his club a transfer request to force a move away from the club according to reports in the Manchester Evening News.

Reports in the same media during the summer transfer window revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho singled out the 23 year old holding midfielder as his priority target but the Portuguese tactician later completed a move for Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic to move to Old Trafford after failing to land the highly rated Englishman at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur turned down Manchester United’s bid to sign the 23 year old on numerous occasions and this prompted the 20 times premier league winners to settle for Nemanja Matic who has been quite impressive in midfield for Jose Mourinho’s men following his big money move from Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho had it in mind that luring Eric Dier away from Tottenham could be a difficult journey and that is something he agreed to during Manchester United’s United States pre-season tour and it would be interesting to see if they would be able to secure the Englishman if another bid is made in January.
