Manchester United play their first game of the year at St James Park as Newcastle host the Red Devils in an encounter that is expected to be thrilling. Manchester United head into the game with a blistering form after winning their last three games and scoring twelve goals in the process. With the return of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, United will be heading into the match ready to get the maximum points.
As expected, David de Gea is going to be in goal while a back four that consist of Ashley Young slotting in at right back now and Luke Shaw as the left back. Red card to Eric Bailly means that a centre back pairing of Phil Jones and Victor Linderlof is expected to complete the back four.
Caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has favoured a three-man midfield and have almost consistent faces in all his three matches. Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba all set to keep their place in the middle of the park.
The attacking line up is where United have abundance of talents and Solksjaer will have headache in picking his team, but it’s the kind of headache a manager wants to have. With the return of Sanchez and Lukaku, it is expected that both start in front and Anthony Martial start alongside them to complete the three man attack.
Predicted lineup: De Gea, Young, Linderlof, Jones, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Matial, Sanchez, Lukaku.
