According to reports in Manchester Evening News, Manchester United winger Juan Mata is set to miss International Champions cup fixtures against Real Madrid and Manchester City after he sustained an ankle injury in red devils 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake at the early hours of today.
Having spent just fifteen minutes into the second half, Juan Mata was forced to leave the pitch after suffering a heavy tackle by Sebastian Saucedo and the unforeseen absence of the Spanish attacker might urge Manchester united to secure a deal quickly for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic who has been a long term target for Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is planning on giving his players more playing in their next coming games against Manchester City of Wednesday in Houston, Barcelona in Washington and Real Madrid in Santa Clara.
Red Devils defender and Italian international Matteo Darmian also picked up a slight knock in the game but Jose Mourinho revealed it was just a slight problem and nothing serious.
The manager also went on to add that the red devils coming games is an avenue to test what they have been practicing during training and also hinted that the games are important games for the team but they are not necessarily playing to get a result.
